"I have had a few teachers from various streams of yoga over the last 25 years , I've attended Santosha's classes for aprox the last 5years. Santosha is the most inspiring & pro active teacher I've had. Pro active in the way that it is very evident that she plans each term with a theme & plans each class with great enthusiasm. The class is packed with inspirational tips to enhance my life, which continue to inspire me throughout each coming week. This results in me having more focus on my commitment to being responsible for my own well being physically, emotionally & psychologically" - Kay K, 2017
"I find Santosh’s emphasis on the spiritual aspects of yoga deeply relaxing and a means to gain inner peace and clarity in my life. Her students love her for her warmth, sincerity and serenity. She is an inspiration!" - Leeta B, 2017
"I enjoy the relaxation and yoga nidra sections of your class. I also enjoy how Santosha caters for all levels of difficulty in the physical practices by giving more or less demanding postures. An example would be during” Salute to the Sun” giving alternate postures while the rest of the class does “Salute”. I also enjoy Santosha's deeper reflections on life and the readings at the end of the class" - Jennie G, 2017
"Santosha's classes are one of the highlights of my week. She is an excellent teacher with a sharp acumen and well-honed intuition when it comes to the various needs of her students. Santosha's classes are carefully planned and I really love the way she weaves in the elements of the seasons and nature into the practices she teaches. She makes yoga so much more than stretching and breathing. I have learnt so much. What a blessing!" - Donella J, 2017
"There are a number of things that I particularly like about Santosha's classes.
I like her gentle approach. I've been to classes run by sargeant-majors and I'm over them. I particularly like how she offers alternatives to each set of postures. There have been days that I've really appreciated that! The postures are always good and helpful. I'm a big fan of the breathing segment, and get the feeling that there is lots more to feel and know in that area. I don't recall ever doing a breathing segment in other yoga classes. I am really keen on yoga nidra, and I'm very happy with how I'm going with that.
Santosha has a lovely light touch with the yoga education pieces that she brings to the class - and I see that that is necessary. It would be so easy to swamp people! (We have been watching Dr. Jordan Peterson, psychology professor at Toronto University, on YouTube - such good material, but it's like eating cheese. You can only take so much at a time.)
I very much like the education pieces and how she weaves themes into the whole class - that's helpful for retention, and very motivating. I like the little inspirational pieces too, though I don't always get them. :-)
Nancy brought me along to Santosha's classes, and introduced me to a number of people. This has meant that I came directly into a welcoming community and immediately felt very much at home. They are a lovely crowd! Since then I've also introduced some people and the community has grown. I really like the venue too. It is spacious and airy, as well as atmospheric and inspirational.
It's the one at the top that dictates the spirit and if you like the "culture" of the group. That's Santosha, and she's done very well there" - Mary O, 2017
