Past workshops
- Savour Autumn and relax your Psoas muscle, the muscle of the soul
Date: Sat 14th Apr 9am - 12pm
Venue: Holy Covenant Anglican Church, 89 Dexter St Cook
Theme: Savour Autumn and relax your Psoas muscle - the muscle of the soul.
Take the opportunity to listen to the seasonal shifts happening around you, restore your sense of balance, connect to the impulses that Autumn brings. In Autumn, our focus turns to themes of maturity, deepening, and receiving nourishment;
Come practice simple techniques to deeply relax and balance the psoas muscle, which some call the muscle of the soul. I will use techniques outlined by Donna Farhi in her latest book "Pathways to a centered body". This muscle is said to be linked to our structural balance, muscular integrity, flexibility, strength, range of motion, joint mobility, and organ functioning as well as to our breathing, emotions and vitality.
This class will include:
- relaxation
- yoga postures suitable for all
- yogic breathing practices
- meditation
- mantra
